I am having a display issue with my M1330. The warranty expired a few months ago, and I am trying to figure out the extend of the issue. I actually sent it to Dell when the issue first started and they returned the laptop without fixing the problem. It is not something you can just replicate so they may not have been able to see the problem.

This occurs randomly, maybe once a day. It starts out as a very faint vertical block and sometimes becomes more and more visible. I can make it go away by lightly pushing on the bezel to the right of the Dell logo. This makes me think that this is a flex cable issue, not LCD. The video is a little dark so you may not see me pressing on the bezel to fix the problem.

Has anyone else experience this, and do you know what needs to be done to fix it? I have the M1330 with SEC LED LCD.

How long have you had this?

Does pushing the laptop screen change anything signifigantly?

It could be the GPU failing... Have you got the 8400GS?

If so dell extended everyones warranty by a year on GPU related issues, also see the M1330 Vertical Lines thread:

I saw this, but my issue appears to be different. I have Intel GMA, and no crashes. The lines go away completely when I press on the bezel, but they come back at some point later on. This has been happening for probably close to a year.
