Some time ago I replaced the M1330 HDD with a WD 500GB Caviar Blue (5400rpm).
I have been satisfied with the drive but now (perhaps as summer comes) the temperature is increasing - currently reaching 51 DEGC (124 DEGF).
I see that seems to be within the operating range of this drive (55-60 DEGC max.) but the notebook is becoming very hot and it si rather worrying to me. especially as the drive doesn't seem to be very busy much of the time.

    Is anyone else experiencing this?
Any recommendations? (I can't see any options in Device Manager that might reduce the temperature except for disabling DMA)

Hmmm... seem to be an awful log of QQLive proccesses hitting the disk... video cache? Maybe it is not as idle as I thought.

[Stop Press - nope... still running hot.]
