Has anybody on here with the Intel GMA X3100 had a failed motherboard on the M1330? I have searched the forums, and while the Nvidia equipped models seem to be prone to it, I've not had any luck finding info on failed Mobo's on laptops with intergrated graphics. Two months out of warranty too.

also, If i jam a big hard drive into the machine, how would that affect cooling/battery life? I'm sure is its a noob question but i've only ever stripped desktops.

    Thanks

I remember seeing one other person with the same problem here.. Perhaps if you dig really hard... you might find it.. but there wan't any solution as far asa I remembered..

The larger drive in (capacity?) wouldn't affect the cooling unless it's a higher speed HDD as well..

battery life yes.. it requires more power to drive your HDD. Try not to pick on WD cause they are fast and consume more power.

So you haven't had a mobo failure with the Intel Vid Chipset?

As far as extra space, buy an external 1 or 2TB hard drive.
You can store all your torrents, movies, music there.
And leave the big bad 320GB hard drive 50% free so it runs nice and smooth.

Oh,,,Please put a laptop cooler under that bad boy.
Anybody with a laptop today had better have a cooler or a big fan blowing on the vent.

    Good Luck,
    Chetanji :)
