My M1330 laptop is out of warranty and needs a new DVD/CDrom player.
Will someone kindly tell me where to buy a new player to install myself?

I have heard the TEAC's are a decent upgrade.

Please help as I have tried the Dell support web site with no help at all in this area.

    Thanks,
    Chetan

Dell will be way overpriced. Is it a slot load or tray load? I seem to recall geeks.com had the UJ-120 tray load BluRay player for 66.00 (USD).

    Check eBay also...

You say it is a better drive but here's what happened to me.

All was fine with the DVD/CD writer for 9 months.
Although it is slow compared to an external drive it did work...
then one day it refused to write CD's or DVD's.
It just showed the filenames written on the disks, but you are unable to open the files.
I would venture to say all slimline DVD/CD drives are a lower quality product than their full size counterparts.

Anyway, thanks for your input. The new drive will be delivered by next Wednesday.

    blessings,
    Chetanji
