    Hey boys and girls :)

I ordered a new Dell XPS M1330 on Friday, and expecting to get it delivered 8 December. But the last days I have read a LOT about cooling problems. That the Nvidia GeForce card get really hot when you game a litle, and that the motherboard become destroyed. This really worries me now. So I ask, have Dell fixed this cooling problem? Since I just ordered it, or is it still a problem?
Have someone out there just bought this computer and have problems?

A buddy of me, he bought his M1330 for 1 year ago, and when he play a 2D game for like 5 minutes, the GPU temp is 103 degree Celcius :(
He has A07 Bios and Rev 04 Motherboard I think.

I bought this computer because I thougt i could I play a little with it, but it seems after I have read that the computer is gonna be really hoooot :(

Sorry for my bad English :)

    The M1330 does run hot.

WHat you are probably talking about w/the motherboard and GPU is that many of the 8 Series nvidia graphics cards are defective, which can fry the motherboard.

Are you getting a 8 Series or 9 Series GeForce card? The 9 Series doesnt have the defect. ;)

103C is very hot, he must have been using it on a soft surface or blocking the vents. Still, i recommend a cooler for your notebook.
EIther the Zalman NC1000, NZXY Cryo LX, or Enermax Aeolus CP001 (review in sig) ;)

As far as i know, they havent changed any of the cooling systems in it.

But since you have the 8 Series GPU, they have a BIOS that makes the fans run faster to try to keep the heat down and stop the GPU from failing.

The bad thing, is that it could be defective. If you havent received it yet, i would cancel the order if possible. If it fails, it will completely break and usually fry the mobo. Although, it is covered in warranty, i would avoid the GPU and the trouble you may have in the future. Because it usually occurs after standard warranty expires. ;)

It is most likely run hot even if you dont have a defective GPU. So again, i recommend you a cooler. :)

I highly recommend the copper mod. It lowered my idle temp by 10 degrees, and load temp by 20 degrees (no higher than 71 Celsius).
