F!ck I Got The 6 Pin
is there a converter?! -
You can just simply buy a cable... that goes from the 4 to the 6 pin.
-
For Firewire 400, there are 2 types of connectors. The 6-pin, which is usually found on desktops and probably what you have. There is also a 4-pin connector, which is usually found in notebooks. The only difference is that for the 6-pin connector, there are 2 pins assigned to power delivery and 4 for data. In the 4-pin version, there is no power delivery, so you will have to get a separate power supply for whatever firewire device you are trying to connect, unless it is just file sharing via firewire, then no power is required.

I was literally about to cry until I saw it on target.com
YES!! -
If it an external HD that you are trying to connect, you just need a 4-pin to 6-pin cable. Also, your HD needs to have its on power supply.
-
ohh my external hd does have its own power supply
and im goin to target after i get my m1330
I need a small usb hub and one of those cables -
Oh my.... no comment.
-
Im glad u agree
-
Don't get the cable from target because they will charge you 20 bux for it. I have seen them from small online vendors for $2 to 3 shipped (just google it). 5 bux is probably the maximum I would pay for it. If you find a cheap site, I would recommend that you buy a 4-pin to 6-pin cable and also a 4-pin to 4-pin cable. The latter is useful for fast laptop to laptop file transfers.

.. well
A. Im not paying for it
