Just got my tuxedo black XPS M1530. Works fine, no issues there. BUT...noticed 2 build quality issues, which is kind of bugging me.
First - the metal strip beside the XPS/M1530 wording on the top left corner of my keyboard isn't completely "flat" in place, it juts out very very slightly.
Second - the back of the screen, the piece with the dell logo isn't installed properly, one side is flushed flat while the other side is sticking out a bit. I can't seem to press it down into place either.
Is this a big enough issue for me to bug dell support into solving?![]()

Well, ultimately it's up to you whether or not you can live with those issues.
However, I believe that yes, it is definitely a big enough issue for you to call Dell about. You just dropped a lot of money on one of Dell's premium-line notebooks, and its build quality should reflect that. Cosmetic defects are still defects. Don't let anyone get away with charging you for a high quality product and delivering a substandard one. -
yeah i think i will call them on Monday. Wish me luck. This is my first Dell and I hope their customer service/tech support will not let me down...

Having, a brand new 1530 you shouldn't even have to see these *issues*
I think that once you call Dell support, you will find them to be helpful
Good luck to you! -
wow looks like everyone has had good experiences with Dell support.
Heh hope they will be able to fix my problem for me without me losing the use of my M1530.. -
What kind of warranty did you get on your 1530 (ie, the ability to have a technician come to your house)??
