I have a problem, which seems to be a common problem with Win 7 and bluetooth but I have been searching the far reaches of th einternet for 4 hours no with no luck.

My laptop finds the bluetooth hardware and installs drivers automatically, and says it is working correctly, but it cannot find any devices, it just says "searching" and never finds anything. I have tried updating the drivers using the Dell site for my laptop using vista, same problem, I have also tried the latest drivers from the Broadcomm website but that won't allow an install, it downloads the latest software, tries to install and then throws up an error which says "This software is not for this system, contact DELL for support"

I am trying to connect a Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 which worked fine with Vista and still works fine with other laptops running XP and Vista. I am at the end of my teather, can anyone help?

Have you tried holding down the connect button on the mouse?

I experienced weirdness with Bluetooth, Win 7, and the 1640. Going to what I thought would be an optimal restore point I found that I couldn't connect my Razer Orochi mouse for anything. Could never figure out why. Gave up and went to a restore point where the Orochi had been recognized by the Bluetooth radio and did software deletes and installs from there. Good luck.

i really need help, nothign is working for me, i have done the patch, i have done the vista 64 bit driver, nothing works, it just searches forever...
the thing is, is that it was working TOTALLY FINE when i installed win 7, then i unplugged it from direct A/C connect and used battery power and ever since then my bluetooth will not find my mouse. i've also manually installed the drivers and have reinstalled the drivers multiple times, nothing is working.
    some questions...

I had a question about the patch, is there one for 64 bit users?

When i right click the bluetooth icon and attempt to open bluetooth settings, nothing comes up. Do you guys know why?

When i open devices and printers, there is no place that has bluetooth on it? I noticed that some of you guys have that. Is there something wrong?

i have win 7 pro clean installed 64 bit
