Just installed SP2 with no problem on my XPS 1530. Took about 35 minutes to install and everything worked fine.

I might entertain the idea on my 1530, once other's have done it first with the same results as *jhawk* :D

I would love to hear more feedback, also!!

I don't think I've heard of any particular problems with SP2, on an M1530 or otherwise. Any individual machine can crash and burn over anything I suppose, but I don't think SP2 has any widespread issues.

    Just do it.

Windows 7 is pretty nice really, and an effortless install on an M1530. Give it a go.

Been having a little problem with Firefox, but don't believe it is related to SP2.

Been a while since i had SP2. Works Flawlessly. Boot time has decreased, but not by so much. Power management is definitely better than SP1; atleast, so far. :)
Alll in all, things have been pretty smooth. Haven't experienced any glitch wat-so-ever. But still, I cant wait for Windows 7! :D

    Hey there! ;)

I like hearing the positive! How long did it take you for the download?
(Great to see the 1530 owners around)

Not sure if it is Firefox servers or google servers as i use igoogle as a home page, but noticed the entire page is slow to load. I just don't believe that SP2 has anything to do with it.

I use google chrome on my m1530 and have had a few bsod but since I've installed sp2 (one week ago I think) no more bsod for me. Also, I noticed that now when I'm not doing anything in the pc the cpu usage and disk usage is 0% whereas with sp1 they never went down to 0% (it was always 1%-4%).

There is no noticable performance gain but better stability and no crashes for me, so i'm liking sp2 a lot. I recommend it.

After installing SP2, my sidebar gadgets rearrange the location/order by themselves on every boot.
    Very annoying

So, from what I'm seeing in the above posts, there are some positives & negatives w/SP2 on the 1530s.

I'm planning on doing a Clean Install & SP2 on Sunday (hoping) :D

It took abt an hour to download (on a 1Mbps Connection).
I have been having some problems with program compatability. for example, tune up utilities runs on troubleshoot compatibility mode. it works fine though. no problems. Tried installing an eveluation copy of ESET NOD32 AV v4, but that didnt work. Found out NOD32 isn't compatible with SP2 yet.
    But otherwise everythings good. :)

Installed couple of weeks ago. Not sure if related, but since the last time I used Google Earth - at some point before installing SP 2 - it now crashes on startup in DirectX mode. Have to run it in Open GL mode. Can't think of any other major config changes other than installing SP 2 so it's a suspect. I tried updating graphics card driver from the Nvidia website - had to roll back as other problems arouse with that update.

Ohh! Will you please keep us updated if your issues w/Starp in DirectX mode work themselves out? ;)

I've had problems with Firefox and Vista period. I don't know if its something else on my machine or what but they just dont play well for me so I stick to IE8 which works just fine for me.

Who had problems with SP1? Thats news to me. I installed SP2 and there may be a slight improvement in performance but I don't really know as I am dual booting with WIN7 which I primarily use now.
