My new XPS M1530 will be dilivered in about two days~!![]()
The specs are...
T8300, Ram 4GB, GeForce 8600M GT, 320GB 5400RPM, and WXGA+ 1440x900.
Well, this is my first time buying a laptop.
1. What should I check when I recieve it?
2. Could you give me some tips and idea about maintaining it in good shape?

Hey, snap on the specs
Hehe. Check out the thread i made as linked above ^
The vista tweaks are really useful and honestly have made quite a large difference to the performance of my 1530.
Maintenance on a performance level I would recommend fairly regular defragmentation of your hard drive. This puts all of your files into chunks on the disk which makes it easier and faster to read.
For the cosmetic level, I guess keep the stuff between the screen and the keyboard that ships with the notebook, and put it in there when you close it. This can protect the screen rubbing against the palmrest and keys. For the casing scratches and dents can be prevented by using a padded case when you transport it. I've used the shipping sleeve inside regular rucksacks so far, and this seems to work ok, though there are better padded solutions if it worries you!
Hope that helps, enjoy your new purchase
