Hi everyone, my 8600M GT recently proved to be defective (shuts down the system when starting most games) and Dell will be replacing the motherboard and fans.

I would like to know how the replacement motherboards and video cards are holding up. Has Dell corrected the issue with Nvidia by now?

No, the replacement just delays the inevitable.

Yes, that's right. My m1530's motherboard and heatsink were replaced two times in a year. It won't fix anything. Now its the third time it failed, and Dell is going to replace it with Studio XPS 1640.

Oh wow, nice. Mine is still running strong after almost 2 years come February. Nothing wrong with it at all and I have the 3 year warranty.

My 8600GT is overclocked since december 2007, and still runs cool and fine.
Never had any problem with it.

You should be OK after the replacement.
