I have an m1530 with the 9 cell battery, so the primary cooling vent is already raised off the ground. However, I'm always obsessed with the temperatures on my laptop, and I was wondering if any cooling pad would create enough of a difference to warrant it's purchase.

I know the nc1000 and 2000 are popular choices, but does anyone have any firsthand experience about how they work with the already raised m1530+9 cell?

Or experience with any other cooling pads?

    Thanks in advance.

I don't have experience with them but it definitely won't hurt. It'll especially help passively cooled components such as the RAM and Wifi card.

^^^^This guy did an awesome mini-review on it...be sure to check it ;) : )

I have the 1530 and the 9cell. I had the Zalman 2,000..used it and passed it onto a friend. At that time, it wasn't for me...Since I don't sit desktop that often...My lappy is in my *lap* per se most of the time ;)

So, the raised edge in the back and the ventilation the 9 cell provides, works just fine for me. I also spend alot of time outdoors on my front porch..so it didn't work to well in that instance for me! ;) :)

I have been perusing the idea, though...of possibly trying it again..when I am working at my desk ;)

That's my own opinion..But the Zalman 2000 is very nice!

    Hope that helps!

    Cin ;) :)

the little pushup (hehe my lappy likes to exercise) the 9cell battery gives is enough for me, when on my lap, the battery prevents my knee from blocking the flow of air, so the computer stays rather cool, the only part witch im worried about is the wireless card (witch is below the mousepad) witch gets absurdly hot, and that part mostly sits on my lower tummy, and heat on those places can be bad for you, but that can be prevented by simply keeping the laptop as far front of your lap as possible.

but other than that i have no heat issues whatsoever, on my lap or on the desk.

and im afraid a cooler would only be making more noise :D

If the wireless card area does get that hot, maybe i should keep my external wireless n card? :p
