does the 9 cell help alot for ventilation or hardly any, i know it ghighers the laptop so you get better airflow, but is it hardly better or alot better then when you have the 6 cell and the laptop is all touching a surface?
also, is the m1530 any good at airflow while the whole laptop is touching a surface?? an d how does it compare to when you hae the 9 cell and its not all toouching a surface?

While the 9-cell, with its taller profile, will lift the back of the notebook substantially higher, therefore allowing more air to flow under it, I'm sure that the engineers designed the 1530 so that it gets more than enough cooling, even with the 6-cell in place. Non issue if you ask me.

Personally I think the 9 Cell is the way to go if they are still doing the free upgrade. The 9 cell is nice, it gives the laptop a nice little like stand. It will even sit on your lap just fine. It's not that big of a lip actually. It isn't even that noticeable carrying it around. It's still pretty light even with the 9 cell too.

lol, in the uk its not free and well £90 is crazy, il wait for battery crysis to finsh so i get a cheap 9 cell.
that is why battery prices are crazy and 9 cell costs like £185, and what was the cost like before dell battery problem? -
Not free in Canada either. Costs a fortune (for a battery).
-
Same here, like 250 USD for a 9 cell
.

I also love the *lift* that it provides to rear of the laptop.
I also have the 6 cell and there is a noticeable difference... The 6 cell touches the surface, whereas the 9 cell is *lifted* off the surface.
Basically: 6 cell sits flat, 9 cell lifts
Hope that helps, -
Yep, the prices for a new battery from Dell right now are beyond rediculous. I thought it was bad before for $160 to get a 9-cell, which I saw back in mid-April. Now in hindsight I should have jumped on that. Currently, the 9-cell is selling for a WHOPPING $300. There's no way they are selling ANY batteries at that price.

Or you can get one for like $60-80ish on ebay

I have the 9-cell and I see that the frequency at which the fan turns on and starts moving fast is considerably lower than my prev one with the 6-cell. Also, similar to what the others mentioned above, the forward tilt is really nice to work on the keyboard..
and my laptop stays 'pretty' cool I must say, considering the specs, and even when I run lots of applications and stuff... So I would say it *does* help a lot for the ventilation for the laptop

Yea, I haven't seen any myself like that. Even right now, there are only 2 that are up on Ebay.
This one is a used battery which I'd never buy.

This one is new but it's in Australia and costs around $175 after shipping.

Yeah, I'm looking for a 9 cell for my (hopefully soon arriving) M1530. They are really hard to find right now.
-
I use the 9cell way more than I do the 6 cell, though...I use the 9cell primarily at home, and the 6cell when out-and-about.
So, with temps's....I always notice that my 1530 gets hot (as it get's more use than the 6 cell)
M1530 9cell/ventilation?
