Oh boy I'm having the biggest issue with my optical drive but I have the blu ray rewrite drive.
I'll burn and read dvds and then all of a sudden the drive does not exist. Rebooting sometimes fixes it but is always a temporary solution. This has been going on for months now and I've replaced my drive over 5 times now(yes 5 times not an exaggeration) i've replaced the mother board twice and the screen twice and keyboard twice. I've tried Bios Revision A09 and A12 and they both do the same thing. I've contacted dell with this issue and they just keep sending me a box to send my computer to them. They've told me over the phone this is not a common issue at all. It usually dies out when I'm watching blu ray movies and it begins to stutter and drop frames like mad.
Anybody have this issue?

same for me also... i have no idea what it could be.... maybe a windows bug?

that's what i'm assuming but dell keeps saying windows files are corrupted yet they've sent me new discs and installed everything for me and still say it's corrupted. I honestly think they know nothing(i already knew this) and won't admit it.
