Just wondering if anyone has seen both laptops?
Are the drives the same standard size??

Once I receive my M1330, Im thinking of trying to buy a BluRay drive for the M1530 and sticking it into my 1330 - but will it fit??

Im guessing the dimensions etc are the same, but am unsure in regards to the thickness?....

Somebody here already followed this train of thought. Save your cash my friend because it reportedly doesn't fit. From what I recall of the topic it would have required some serious 'cosmetic surgery' to install it.

So its the overall size thats different??
Strange, I thought these drives would have been a standard size. Oh well!
Thanks for the reply though. Just glad Ive got the drive in my M1730!

I'm the one he is referring to above.

The Bluray drive is just a smidge thicker, so when it fits into the 1330, the
loading slot is a bit higher - thus not quite lining up with the loading slot
on the chassis itself. I think it could be made to fit, but it would involve doing
some dremmel work on the laptop chassis. There are some plastic ribs that the stock drive sits on that probably could be trimmed down...

Is this because the 1330 has a slot loading drive?

They both have slot-loading drives, but the slit in 1530 sits higher than in 1330

9.5 mm for the 1330 drive, and 12 mm for the 1530 drive...

Hmm, thanks for the info though guys.
I would have loved a BD player in this system though, especially since it has a HDMI port :(

Why dont you cancel the 1330 and get a 1530 , i have 2 of them and love them
you could install a blu ray into that no problem and still have the HDMI
I havent actually seen 1330 in the flesh but im happy with the battery, size and quality of the 1530s

I was thinking about the 1530 at first, but I want something really portable, since I also have my M1730 as well, hence the more portable the second system is, the better.
I have BluRay in my M1730, so can always resort to that if need be, it would just have been a little more easier with the M1330 thats all ;)

yeha i know what you mean although for me the 1530 is perfectly portable
I sent my 1730 back, lovely machine just too huge. Hence the reason i got a few 1530s now :)

If I was getting rid of my M1730, then Iwould have defo gone for the 1530, but since Im not I chose the 1330 instead.

I hope it comes quick! Its been put on priority I believe, but my estimated date is still 27th May :(
