I cant seem to plug any cable into my ethernet jack, and no lights come on when it sits in there, which if it was working, I would think some lights would atleast go on, even if it didnt clip. What could be wrong with it? And I am guessing it wouldnt be an easy fix, probably a replacement of the motherboard, and they would have to send a guy wouldnt they? What can I do?

Well, first of all... it does need to "click" in to ensure that proper contact is being made. Otherwise, it's just plastic on plastic = no lights. The other thing, is you need to make sure what is on the other end is functioning properly. Try a different port on your router/switch.

There is light actually, 2 of them, to day there is a connection, and incoming bandwith light. I know u dont need a click to ensure a connection, but just holding it in doesnt generate a connection. I have tried multiple ports at school, in which I have used before and other have used before me. I have no idea why it would be broken, i dont use it much, havent dropped my laptop, no idea.

Is there anything physically blocking it? Some gunk in there?

Never heard of a physically broken ethernet jack before.

Either something blocking it or the clipper in the jack broke off.

If you dont hear a click then its not secured.
