lastnight i decided to fresh install vist and remove all blotware.
Question 1. when installing vista and the installing ahci there are two files identified which do i choose?

    2. can someone give we a list of what to install off the dell drivers disk. do i need to install the chipset drivers?

    3. since this install my dvd drive has been playing up seems to take for ever to read a dvd and sometimes freeze.

Thing im going to reinstall vista. so please if anyone can post a list of driver to install i would be greatfull + inc the ahci driver name.

    thanks

Also when installing the Nvidia driver i used the one from dell. m1330. 175.97 i just downloaded from dell and installed was it ok to do that? the one specified for m1530 seem old

Have you taken a look at the dell vista laptop reformat and bloatware removal guide? its all given there in some clear steps. Also there is a link to a graphical representation of the same made by another member. All your questions are answered there (except the #3)

    1. Chose the intel matrix storage manager driver.
    2. I guess you would need to install all the drivers.
    3. This I don't know why.

Yes, 175.97 from dell should work. but to be safe, I would suggest installing the 156.63 for M1530 from Dell. Once your system is up and running you could always go back and install newer drivers, either 174.31 or 175.97.

    Good luck.
