Hey guys..I recently got my M1530 from Dell and am loving it. My 8600M GT came with stock 174.31 Nvidia drivers. I noticed DX10 doesn't work very well with this driver in some of my games. When i try to update my drivers, the install goes flawlessly, but my games fps are now reduced to a max of 5fps, when I'm usually averaging 30. But I notice my DX10 problem is fixed.
When i uninstall the updated drivers and go back to 174.31 the performance is amazing but DX10 is still not working correctly. I thought maybe the problem was not uninstalling 174.31 before installing the new drivers but when i load up the device manager and try to uninstall the drivers nothing happens.
Any help regarding this problem is really appreciated, I hope someone can fix my problem and find the best drivers for the 8800M GT.

    Download Driver Sweeper.

Download the 175.32 driver from laptopvideo2go. Use the QuickStart Guide if you have not used a modded .inf file before.

NOTE: You can also try the 175.32 driver directly from NVIDIA however your GPU made not be listed in their .inf file and if this is the case, it will not install.

    To install, follow this process:

    1. Uninstall the NVIDIA DISPLAY DRIVER using Control Panel>> Programs & Features. DO NOT REBOOT

    2. Run Driver Sweeper by checking NVIDIA DISPLAY DRIVERS.

    3. Reboot.

3a. For added peace of mind, you can also use CCleaner to clean out any missed registry entries via Registry Scan. I do this every time I uninstall the video card driver prior to a new driver install.

    4. Use the laptopvideo2 go driver you downloaded or try the driver directly from NVIDIA I mentioned above. Both are the same, however with the laptopvideo2go they have basically modded the .inf file to include a wide range of GPUs.

You should be good to go once this is done. Hope this helps.

I found the 177.41 drivers from LaptopVideo2Go to be pretty good, and gave me a higher 3DMark score then the Dell drivers.

By the way I think you mean 8600M GT not 8800M GT.

Just reboot - and before installing the new driver you selected, run Driver Sweeper again.

Alright everything is working good now. Thanks so much!
One last question though..is 175.32 the best drivers for the 8600M GT since DFI Fan noticed that i put 8800M GT in my first post.

Truthfully, I don't know. People tend to have different results than others only due to the fact not everyone plays the same games. It's a matter of choice. What I look for is a driver that is stable, has no adverse impact on temps and will run my game of choice - TF2. I also am one to stick with official NVIDIA releases. That's just the way I see it though... like I said, everyone is different :)

Alright thanks for all your help, I'll test different drivers and see what my best results are.
