I have the Dell XPS M1530 laptop, and of course the motherboard is fried. The laptop is no longer covered by warranty, and I dont want to buy a new mobo from Dell, because they charge a ridiculous amount of money. Where can I buy a new mobo with the new non-faulty Nvidia chip? I don't want to buy one of the original ones because it will just overheat from the chip and burn up again.

Any direct links would be greatly useful!

There is no such thing as Non-Faulty Nvidia chips and the problem has never been fixed.

there is a 1 year extension for mobo/GPU warrant.... just call dell up, if you are close to the end of the warranty, or still covered by the 1 year extension, exchange it

I did call Dell, but they wont transfer the ownership because I got it on craigslist and I do not know the seller's last name. So they wont cover it under that warranty. I thought they fixed the problem and now they are putting in the new mobos with the new chips when they are sent back, so shouldnt I be able to buy a new mobo somewhere that is non-faulty?

They are faulty and Dell should have done the right thing and recalled the 1530 and 1330 models instead of bandaid fixes that do not work.
