    Hi,

I've had my M1530 for about 5 months and in the last few days and have had a problem with the screen. Twice in the last 3-4 days I have come home from work to find the left hand side of the screen substantially dimmed(darker). The screen was left on regular settings, no screen saver etc. Within 5 minutes of use the left hand side of the screen had returned to normal brightness. My initial thought was an issue with the backlight but it doesn't make any sense to me that it would dim while idle and then return to normal brightness after a few minutes of use. Ideas?

    Thanks for any help.

    -Chris

    1. Why do you leave your screen/laptop on when you are away for 8+ hours? 0.o

    2. I don't know for sure but if it goes away as the machine and screen warm up than it is likely your backlight imo.

If it continues and doesn't get any better, you maybe want to call Dell and have it looked at or replaced, since it's still new...Do you have Onsite?

No on-site :(...any idea how long these things usually take to get back from being fixed?

I guess for now I'll just wait and see if it gets any worse.
