Hi,
I was wondering if I the M1530 would accept a T7400 SL9SE ( socket M according to wiki).
My M1530 has a T5750 in it.
Was wondering because I saw a good deal for a T7400 and of course would like to know if it would work if I upgraded to it.
Thanks.

IIRC, it won't. A T7X00, where X is odd, will work.
-
Thank you. I will just get a T7500 then, only $20 more.
-
I was wondering, how much of a performance difference in recently released games like Crysis or GRID will I see from this processor upgrade? My specs are in my profile. Thank you very much.
-
Maybe a little in some games, but not much overall, since they are largely GPU-bound.
-
Thanks for your expertise. I believed since I was going from 62nd to 33rd place on Notebookcheck.net's Mobile Processor Benchmark List, I was hoping to see moderate-high performance increases in everything, regardless of whether the game is GPU intensive or not. Aren't there CPU intensive games I will benefit more from then? I was chatting with a guy on YouTube and he said my processor is what's dragging my computer through the mud in terms of general game performance.
EDIT: Will the processor upgrade have greater effects on the general performance of a 64-bit operating system (compared to 32-bit)? Thanks. -
wt about 7700?
-
For the T7700 it would have been a $80 + premium over the T7500.
-
I've got a T9300 laying around if anyone's interested
-
Dang I've already spent $200 (Canadian) on the T7500 lol. Ha it's all right, if processors only improve game performance as much as rflcptr says, I'm happy with my T7500.
-
The T7500 should serve you well. With it, the limiting factor should be your GPU.
-
I don't think I will be able to remedy that unfortunately. Unless I get an Asus XG Station lol.
-
as my default processor, i got T8100. when did you bought the laptop ???
-
April '08. I believe the T5750 was the lowest CPU available, unless that was the T5550.
-
Oh, BTW the model of T7500 I got is the QUDJ Engineering sample. I guess that shouldn't be a big deal. It's never been in a laptop before. Stepping is B1. I read that core stepping has a slight performance impact (newer>older) but for the most part it's rather neglible.
