    Here is my problem.

I have my mouse connected to my right usb port and an external hd to one of my left.

If i connect another external to the second left usb port..my computer stops responding.

if i connect my 32gb pen drive to the second left usb port..it stops responding.

As soon as i pull them out..the computer starts responding. i can use any of my drives just fine by themselves in either of the left usb ports.

    what's going on?

You are exceeding the power capacity of your usb ports
Buy a powered usb hub ( About $20 ) if you want to run everything at once
