Hi guys, I'm thinking of updating the graphics driver on my M1530 from Dell's 176.44 version to the latest 185.20 version from Laptopvideo2go.

Wanted to ask a few questions before doing so, mainly:

    1. Are there any problems when "waking up" from sleep with these drivers?
    2. Anyone got any benchmarks or comments on performance for these drivers? Mainly play COD4, Fallout3, Farcry 2...
    3. Notice any difference in temps.?

Anyone who has installed them i would appreciate your comments! :D

    Thanks

EDIT: Should mention I'm running Vista SP1, 4GB RAM, T7250 and i usually overclock my card to 610/902.

All 18x.x released so far have the sleep issue.

games seem smoother, but i havent really tested it with benchmarks and stuff, wakeup and sleep are disabled in my lappy, so i cant tell you there.
temps are about 1-2C higher, but if your in doubt about this driver, go ahead and install it, its stable and it wont put your data at risk :D ( or any other thing for that matter )

Instead of installing those 185.20 drivers, i recommend you to install 179 from Nvidia site. They are beta, but they work really fine with M1530. Sorry for my bad english.

    PD: Before downloading this driver:

    1. Please check to make sure that your notebook has a supported GPU and is not listed in the exclusion list (refer to the Products Supported tab below).
    2. It is recommended that you backup your current system configuration. Click here for instructions.
    3. If you own a Dell Inspiron 1420, Dell XPS M1330, or Dell XPS M1530 it is highly recommended that you first install this Dell software update. (Meaning BIOS A12)

Thanks for the info guys! i think im going to download the 185.20 drivers and give them a test!

They will get the boot if there is any issues with the sleep function though...
JC, do these drivers offer good performance?

Also, are there any issues with the sleep function of the laptop?

185.20 performed very well for me until they crashed, which I suppose isn't performing that well after all.
179 is stable, but runs a little hotter and slower.

Got the 185.20 installed and it appears that the sleep function is still running perfectly! Bonus!

Will restart a couple of times etc. just to check and then i will begin testing performance!

Oh, well, in my case i increase the benchmarks (3dmark06) from 4700 to 4863 or something like that with 179, no sleep problems, and temps are about the same. But i haven´t install the 185.20 cause i don´t want those sleep problems. Try them both and you´ll see what´s better for you. Regards.

Well I've installed 185.20 and have no sleep issues as with the other drivers!

You should give them a try
