I just got my M1530 with the faulty 8600M GT replaced with a new motherboard. The temperatures never pass 83C under load now (was 96C with constant shutdowns) but I get a very strange downclocking problem.

Furmark works perfectly, no downclocking evident, so the overheating problem is really fixed.

In Halo, when looking at certain structures (especially transparent things like power ups, the framerate plummets from 200+ to 15-30, but jumps back up when I look away. The angle at which this happens is very defined and always the same, there is no in-between.

In Homeworld 2, looking at certain angles creates terrible stuttering but is perfectly smooth when looking away.

In Rivatuner, no downclocking is seen, I've got all 2d and 3d settings at 475, 950, 702 MHz. I can get rid of the problem completely if I clock the core at 260 MHz or lower. I'm using Windows 7 and I have the power mode set to High Performance.

Anyone getting problems like this and any leads?
