I'm REALLY drooling for an M1530, and I'm REALLY finding it hard to NOT hit the "add to cart" button...

had a question, as I see it all over the place...

I'm old-school - I came from the school that the FSB and RAM clocks match, or are multiples...

So, when I see an 800FSB proc, with 667mHz RAM, it obviously gives my older brain fits.

    So, question is as follows:

    Which is better:

    1) 2.0gHz proc 800FSB, 2GB DDR2-667 RAM
    2) 2.0gHz proc 667FSB, 2GB DDR2-667 RAM

Does the extra 133mHz of FSB make up for the asynch clock differential between the CPU and RAM? As I remembered it, having mis-matched clocks on CPU and RAM kinda' trashed a few cycles trying to play come-around-again to get the data into the proc.

the laptop can only handle 667MHz RAM, so if you put some 800MHz, it will downclock it and you will have wasted your money...

Um.....OK......but.....I never said anything about using 800mHz RAM.
    I was referring to comparing a 2.0 667FSB CPU + DDR2-667 RAM, against a 2.0 800FSB CPU + DDR2-667 RAM.

    EDIT:

What's the chances of being able to pop in a Core 2 X chip in the M1530?
