    I recently got spore, and was surprised to find that the frame rate is fairly low, ide say 15-20 on all high settings in the creature stage at 1400X900 with the new patch.

    Are most M1530's Playing like this? See my sig for specs to compare...

    Its not a M1530 specific issue..

    You have to check the drivers for your video card.. What version do u have now? Try getting a newer version driver (a good place if laptopvideo2go forums).. see if u can find any that works specifically well for Spore..

    Also you might want to check if the power plan option is in high performance mode, in your laptop.. good luck.

    i would believe its a driver or a power setting issue. I have ran spore on my desktop pc wich is half the beast my 1530 is and would get about the same framerate.

    Would the M1530 be expected to be able to play it on that high of a resolution anyway? I've not seen the system req's for spore but seems the 8600m GT is only up to medium settings and res on most games made wthin the last year and a half and anything new?

    For XP:

    * 2.0 GHz P4 processor or equivalent
    * 512 MB RAM
    * A 128 MB Video Card, with support for Pixel Shader 2.0
    * At least 6 GB of hard drive space

    For Vista:

    * 2.0 GHz P4 processor or equivalent
    * 768 MB RAM
    * A 128 MB Video Card, with support for Pixel Shader 2.0
    * At least 6 GB of hard drive space

    It seems to be a very non system demanding game(when compared with most others released lately)

    Granted I don't believe these are the recommended systems just the required.

    I only just started playing pc games again since i got my XPS years ago but always took "recommended requirements" to mean the recommended for medium graphics and that if you want high settings you need to exceed them quite a bit.

    They do look low for Spore though, I would expect the M1530 to play it with some settings on medium though if people want 1440x900 resolutions.

    The drivers are not the issue, Dell updated them to 175.97 for the M1530 and im not using those laptop video 2 go ones.

    Is anyone using the dell drivers and having the same problems as me? or is it purely just that the 8600M GT DDR3 can't handle higher than 1280X res

    In general i find the 8600M GT can't run games at such a high res, i'd say it's down to how powerful the card is.
