Hi there, I didn't have this problem until I reformatted a week ago.

I installed Vista and everything as before. It was the 4th time I reinstalled the OS in this laptop.

Well, this time I can't let the computer downloading stuff! Normally I changed the power management settings and set "Action for closing lid -> NOTHING " (not sure if that's the translation as I have Vista in Spanish). so I would just close the lid and let it download while it's being charged and connected to power.

However, now when I do that at about 10-15 min if I open the lid I get a BLACK screen, or a totally freeze computer (sometimes I can move the mouse, but I can't ctrl alt del, windows L Or ANYTHING) I have to force reboot...

Right now I tried not closing the lid but putting it down enough and loweing the brigthness. After 2 hours I came back -> BLACK screen.

It doesn't matter if I'm actually downloading something or not, If I leave the laptop like that without downloading the same happens.

What can I do? The only.... "reason?" that I can find, and the only difference between now and the other 3 installations is that right now I have UAC running, while I disabled it in the other 3, but I'm not sure why that should be the problem.

As always excuse me for my English.

It happened to me again today.

I just stopped using the computer for half an hour (idle, with firefox) and when I wanted to use it again, it was frozen...

    Any suggestion?
