For some reason while I download my computer becomes unusable. Everything completely slows down. I cant even type normally because i type faster than it shows up on the screen. Trying to listen to music doesnt work either cause it just skips. Same with browsing the internet. its like my laptop becomes stoned.
Ive contacted XPS support and they didnt help. I was with them for like 2 hours and they couldnt figure anything out. At the end they just told me to reinstall the OS.
Ive had this problem for quite a while now. Ive reinstalled Vista and it still has the problem. You can see my specs on my sig, but I'm currently on Vista Home Premium cause reinstalled the OS.

what kind of router and wifi card are u using?
do u have yur powermizer set to high performance?
have u turned yur wifi strength to high? -
Is your power plan set to Power Saver?
-
I have a linksys WRT54G and Dell Wireless 1490 802.11a/g Mini Card.
Not sure what you mean by powermizer. but my performance is on high.
I never messed with the wifi strength so it's set at the default.
I dont think it's any of those problems cause it doenst happen all the time.
If i restart itll work fine for about 30 min. -
I have exactly the same problem.
I have Dell Vostro 1400 with Dell Wireless 1390 802.11a/g Mini Card connected to linksys WRT54G.
My OS is Vista home basic.
Any solution for this problem ?? -
What do you guys you use to Download file and also check while download which process is consuming CPU most
-
I tried to download with FlashGet, FireFox, Opera, IE - it is the same.
About CPU I will check this precisely when I be at home but I did not sight one process that was consuming too much of it.
