    M1530 just came!

    1 day later than it was estimated to arrive. Not bad.
    So far it's all good. I'm customizing it and all at the moment.
    Vista Home Premium 64-bit disc on the way...
    No accessories came with it though.
    Anyways, so far I'm really impressed. I had some doubts, but I think I'm going to stick with it. A bit heavy, but oh well.

    2 questions I have right now:

    1) The Dell Rep (Chris) that sent me the 64-bit disc warned me if I installed it, Dell wouldn't cover software portion of my computer, just hardware. Would that be a big risk? Or are the chances of anything happening so small that I really shouldn't worry about it? (I got the 4 year warranty...)

    2) For the accessories I'm going to try to get them to send me those accessories or at least some credit. Any suggestions? There was a topic discussing this, but I can't find it anymore. Something with "goodies" in the title I think.

    Grats on the new laptop!

    1.) that means they probably wont support you if you have software issues you need help with.

    2.) I have seen people get a giftcard in place of the XPS accessories, but I'm at a loss as to the thread.

    Thats great :) Congratulations. This is a nice laptop :)

    As for the accessories, people keep posting in various threads about how they got stuff... basically call them up, tell them you are disappointed, sad and what-not that you didn't get the "wonderful" accessories, and politely demand for them... else ask them politely again, if they can send a gift card your way :) been happening to lots of people, so there is no reason why it shouldn't for you :) Good luck and enjoy your system :)

    as far as i know...i think i am the latest person to receive something...aut 26th...i e-mailed them...everyone else seems like they are getting no luck

    Also, I was supposed to get a $70 giftcard as part of the deal I got. Would that be added to my account on dell.com or will I find that with my laptop?

    If it is the giftcard for the 4th year of warranty I think you aren't supposed to get that for like 5-7 weeks it says. Did you get the remote.

    Congrat's on the arrival of your 1530!!!! I'm really happy for you...and, now welcome to the 1530 Posse! ;) :) :yes:

    Completely *own* and enjoy that lappy of yours...the 1530's are sweet! :) :yes:

    Regarding the gift cards, sometimes they can take up to 6-8 weeks for you to receive it. ;)

    And, on the accessories....Just give Dell a call, be nice & firm (oh, just be yourself)!!! And, say something like *hey, what can you do for me, to make me 100% happy*..You never know....the rep listening to you on the other end of the line might think, *hey this person's been very nice..I'm gonna see what I can do to keep him happy*! ;) :)

    Mine just came today too but no one was at home to recieve it. I am leaving for the Purolator Courier centre right now. praying for accessories :).
