Last week, I was using my laptop, and it randomly shut down. After that, it would no longer power on, and my AC adapter's LED would not turn on, which I read was a sign that the motherboard had gone bad.

I bought a replacement motherboard, and I just finished installing it. When I try to boot up the computer, all that happens is my num + scroll lock lights light up, and the caps lock light flashes. I can't seem to find any kind of guide to what I'm assuming is a diagnostic code...

    Any ideas?

I have since solved this problem. Might as well post the solution:

The OEM motherboard has a large sheet of plastic that is stuck to the underside of the motherboard (The part that contacts the keyboard).

If you remove the keyboard, the computer *will* turn on. If it doesn't, this solution doesn't apply to you.

You should remove the plastic from the old motherboard, and place it on the new one. If you don't have the plastic, just cover the bottom of the motherboard (at least the parts exposed to the keyboard) with electrical tape. That will work just as well
