These may be more annoying than problems, but lets hear what you think.

    1. There is constant clicking and noise coming from the machiene. I think its from the hard drive cause whenever it makes the noise the activity light is on(Of course while im typing this its silent lol)
    2. Backlight bleed, please tell me if i have a severe problem with backlight bleed. Personally i like my screen, when its on and theres color. Its an LG. Check out my screen here.

    3. BSOD, Got it once already and i have no idea why.
    4. Thats all

    Thanks

Oh yeah what should i say to dell about freebies? lol

    1. I think there's a guide somewhere here that fixes the clicking. Please correct me if I'm wrong -- I vaguely remember it.

    2. That does look pretty severe. Contact Dell to have it fixed.

    3. That's Windows for ya. Well, I haven't gotten BSOD in a long time (and that's running on a 6 year old Inspiron 8100). But really, we're as clueless about it as you are. There are many reason you could've gotten that.

Tell Dell about the freebies your friend received (we're all friends here at Notebookreview ;)). They will tell you that it isn't in your invoice. You can make a counter arguement that it wasn't on your friends invoice either. Just take it nice and easy with them. If that fails, try again until you feel it isn't worth any more of your time.

Sounds pretty much like your hard drive is failing. First you hear strange noises then it stops. That explains the bsod also.
Say goodbye to your hdd, it's days are numbered.

the ticking the hdd is common with the xpsm1530. The head of the hdd is being taken on and off the hdd, this is in case of the laptop falls and it is used to protect the hdd from becoming ruined by such a fall. And the hdd is slowing and speeding up to conserve power, hence the clicking noise you hear.

    * these two generally occur around the same time- ie slowing down and removing the head from writing on your hdd. Thus the noise is somewhat a nuisance. To kinda fix is. Go to your Bios and select high performance or quiet mode for your hdd. :) hope it helps.

I never had any of those problems described but if I had I would've returned it right away especially the BSOD. I don't expect a brand new laptop to show any of those signs. My first HP Compaq died on me within a month and they replaced it right away.

So i called them twice, once to get the hdd "fixed" and then to get the screen replaced. They said the Hard drive is making noise because of static LOL bull**** its static, its brand new. The screen is gonna be fixed by a tech tho, so im kinda happy about that. I hope its another LG, i wont take a grainy screen.

On the extras, i was able to squeeze the creative ear buds and 100$ off my laptop out of them.

how to change using new Bios (A09)?....so does it mean that this ticking HDD problem happens only with Free Fall Sensor features?

I've got the Free Fall Sensor (but on an m1330), and I don't have any clicking noise coming from my hard drive, never did.

    FYI
