I had gotten the Dell m1530 about 11 months back.. I used to get about 5 hours of backup while on Wi-fi, purely browsing..
But in the last two weeks I get less than 2 hours.. Dell techincal support guys say, techincally it is just 15 mins per cell and unless there is any manufacturing defect its not covered..
Any hope of getting a battery replacement ?

Installed Batterybar and the battery wear is 37%.. Is it normal for a 11 month old laptop?

There is a bug with the M1530 and dell laptop battries.
My brand new laptop would not even last 30 minutes when new.
They then replaced my MB and Bat after making me run arround for 8 months.
After that the replacement bat did the same.
And when I called to ask for a replacement thry said my warranty was over.
DO NOT BUY DELL IN INIDA. -
i wouldnt buy another DELL product.. -
Hmm thats disappointing.. I had dead pixels on the screen and they replaced the screen.. But battery they aren't willing to, although backup has dropped by close to 75% in a matter of days..

taking a year expanded warranty and going to make sure they change everythin apart from my data in coming year..
very devilish..but something to make me happy (evil grin)

my xps1530 is about 14 months old and battery bar says 36% battery wear.

Batteries are generally consider to be a consumable and I doubt you will get a replacement. Buying a new one would be fairly low cost.
I also have the 9-Cell battery and my XPS is about 14 months old. I can get about 3-4 hours battery life from mine still and it's been plugged in to the wall constantly pretty much since I bought it. I just use the battery up every so often and re-charge.
I just plan to buy a new one when this dies.
I know people with Inspirons (6-Cell battery) whose went after about 6-months and they couldn't get a replacement. Dell claimed it's just wear and tear.
Avoid the knock off batteries on Ebay and only buy genuine Dell to be safe.
