is the alienware m15x experiencing throttling and heat problems like the 1647/1645?

    i say this because i could get a m15x i7 4GRAM for $1734 1G Nvidia GTX 260M via dell rep

with same rep i can get the i5 studio xps 1647 for $1400

a $334 difference between the two. Studio xps is 1080p, m15x is only 900p

    any comments guys? suggestions?

    Hey :D

Well it all depends, if you need all the graphics power you can get, go with alienware, if you need a portable media laptop that can also handle games and heavy apps very well, then the studio xps is the one.

personally, i would pay the 300 and go with the alienware, im a "desktop replacement" kind of guy, so i need all the performance i can get, but still to be able to take my stuff anywhere with me. ( but im more than happy with my studio xps )
