    Hi, i have had the laptop for 4 month now, i have been running ubuntu on it since i got it, i was wondering if anyone had any tips for getting the best performance out of the 7950gtx, i have a fresh install of vista with sp2, the latest march 08 drivers, aero turned off, superfetch off, any non essential services are off, am i barking up the wrong tree? is xp the os for this laptop??

    any response would be appreciated

    not sure whats the question is... but i stick with xp for that machine; as it is originally designed for xp and also; your card cant take advantage of directx10.
