Hello all. Contemplating whether or not my m1710 is worth sinking a few bucks into. If I go through with it, I would like to put a T7600G processor with 4gb of ram. Together would be about $170. Also I have a 7900GS card in it... not quite sure if I would upgrade that as the used ones on ebay are kind of expensive and dated... So my question is should I sink about $170 into my M1710 or should I just sell the laptop and use the combined funds to get something else? Thanks

I'd just sell the thing and go for a newer laptop. Even entry level laptops these days are more powerful than your dated XPS.

Worth getting the T7600g. Unlocked processor. I had mine running at 2.8ghz extra perormance options in bios. Also worth buying a ssd if you havnt got one. But beware heat issues are bad with these laptops they really cook. Mine gave up the ghost after 2 years.

    good Luck

Not worth it; buy a new laptop. The T7600G is extremely expensive for what you are getting, and you are putting money into a machine that might kick the bucket whenever due to the Nvidia BGA issue.
