    Hey guys,

SO I've received my 3rd new replacement m1730. Currently, in my appartment, I have 3 x M1730's chilling here, one damaged (Bone White), one technically faulty (Bone White) and the 3rd that works perfectly and is in perfect new shape (Smoke Grey)

The 2 Bone White M1730's are using the LG screen, and this is what I've grown used to over the past 2 months. The 3rd Smoke Grey m1730 is using the Sharp screen.

At first I was upset that 1.) It was not bone white and 2.) it was not an LG screen. I quickly got over the Smoke Grey because who cares, honestly, and I gave the sharp screen a chance to decide if it really was worse than the LG screen as I've read in this forum.

I've actually concluded, with the input of others, t hat while the LG is much brighter with colors that seem more vivid, the Sharp screen is much more temperate and overall accurate with its colors. The LG Screen is also almost too bright, which can affect your eyes over time, where as the Sharp screen is calmer and cooler overall with the colors. There is also less banding with the Sharp

While I see why people prefer the LG the color representation on the sharp is simply much more accurate and this is clear when looking at digital photos. I've decided that I'm going to go with the Sharp and its actually an upgrade, even though I was initially upset.

man you've really had it rough, I've seen you posting for months about this!

you should be careful that you don't lose your health over this. Sometimes we make things worse off than they are by stressing about it.

what's bad about the LG? its quite bright which can be a good thing, and the colors are vivid, which is great for gaming and movies, but can be tough for internet browsing (just turn down the brightness!)

there is no such thing as a solid black screen on the lg. its spotted and has wierd bars all over and this was consistant on all 5 of them. the colors are not even close to being accurate. its not that they are vivid they are simply wrong. i can not calibrate the lg to be even close to correct. and the banding it shows is aweful. it is present on almost every color again this was on all 5 i had. the video playback is all blocky and grainy on darker images and this was not a trait of the samsung i had. but video playback is terrible compared to the lg i had in my sager, the chi mei on my compal, and the samsung i had prior. ive tried over and over to get the samsung back and all i get shipped are these crap lg panels. overall the lg honestly only has its brightness going for it that is all. nothing else. and imo its one of the worst 17" wuxga screens ive seen
