    I have been playing wow and the frame rate is way lower than I think it should be. what are ways i can speed it up? Im running
    t8100 cpu, 4gb ram, 9800M GT SLI, 250gb 7200rpm HDD, Vista 32bit, 1920x1200 Rez.
    all settings on WOW are clear up and im only getting about 45 fps.

    Do you have SLI enabled? Try to disable it. As far as I know, it works much better with it disabled than enabled.
    And what drivers are you using? You can find the 185.85 at the nVidia's website. Give them a shot.

    I don't think WOW is a SLI enabled game! Lots of ppl are having the same problem with SLI when playing WOW!

    SLI enabled or disabled same low frame rate, everything is up except shadows and vertical syn is off. nvidia drivers 185.85 did worse that 185.81

    Ok, I'll share my experience since wow is my primary game also, and I'm using the stock stuff too (2.1ghz, 2gb ram, sli 9800).

    First of all, use full screen mode, you gain 10fps over windowed. Now, after messing around (I'm using dox 185.85 this whole time) I noticed that SLi over non SLI gave me an extra 10fps. Is it a fluke? Maybe, I didn't extensively test it, so I just went along with it.

    My frame rates hanging out at that southeastern horde town in borean tundra gave me about 50 fps. (shadow slider only 2 ticks in) I know that my old msi with 2.5 cpu and 4850 was giving me better frame rates. So my last guess is that the cpu is holding us back.

    Btw: maxing your shadow slider really kills framerates.

    Where do i get dox 185.85?
    with my M1530 it is doing way better fps with t7700 2.4ghz cpu, 4gb ram, 8600m gt video.
    cpu is hardly diffrent on it
    im puzzled I did an OSRI and it didnt do any good

    same area
    M1530 = 125fps
    M1730 = 62

    What does your LCD say when you use it on performance, under CPU!

    I notice when i'm playing Dead Space it's like at 98%-99% I haven't tried WOW!

    Guess I'll give these drivers a shot. I'll report back on performance gain/loss whenever I get around to installing the newer version.

    Edit: Ok downloaded the latest "final" version of dox's 185.85. The date on the file was supposedly 5/28/09 so that's pretty recent. Framerates are identical as far as I can tell.

    Very interesting. I decided to try the stock nvidia 185.85 drivers from their website and guess what? My framerates went up 7-10 fps standing in the same position from my earlier test. I'm using windows 7 64 bit btw.

    Edit: My crysis benchmark also went up from 26ish fps to 33ish fps.

    nvidia or dox 185.85 same drivers just dox is smaller file size because a lot of extras were removed and as for your frame rates i did some testing and sundaynight is the best time to get low frames. the more people on your server the less frames you get, i waited till just now didnt change my drivers or anything, and now i am getting 100+ fps where i was getting 60

    Guys, thank you for the thread
    Was googling this problem a long ago and have not found any means of the solution. Bought this crazy laptop a year ago and happy like a child ) after several months FPS got down in raids as you all saying. Having like 4-12fps almost in every fight in Uldaur 25.

    Please could someone ( who got good 20+fps in 25 raid) post screenshots of Nvidia Panel and in game settings. I will realy appreciate the help.

    Meanwhile I will try this dox drivers.

    Guys here is a great Crysis config I have tweaked for a very long time now. Looks great and runs great at 1920x1200 DX9. Be sure Vista users to att to the Crysis.exe shortcut -DX9.

    Just place it directly in the Crysis folder, no sub folders. I am long time user of the XPS M1730 and have tweaked my system for a long time.

    For those of you tinkering with DOX's 185.85, try 190.40 ;)
