Ive not had my M1730 for very long, just over a month. Its always used on mains as it doesn`t leave the house, today i accidentally forgot to plug into into the mains so it started on battery.

The battery is always in the laptop so it has 100% charge, when using it on battery everything was lethargic, when i opened a browser it would open very dim and faint and then very slowly load. Icons and photos were struggling to load on some websites.

Should the battery perform exactly as it does on mains, this one to me seems as though its showing 100% but its not giving 100% power, its like the battery only has a bit of power left in it and its struggling to open and operate things.

This is the 2nd issue ive had in just a month of ownership even though if the battery is a dud its not a major thing but it still shouldn`t be happening on a system so new, i have a Dell engineer coming out later today to change the right hand side USB ports for the 2nd time in a week. Its not a great start...

Check your Vista Power Profile. I believe what you are seeing is the CPU downclocking. You can adjust your settings or select High Performance. You can also set the screen brightness level for battery power. See if that helps.
