So I just installed Windows 7, and along with getting to reinstall all the drivers I could find some I just can figure out. My main concern is I get 2 ! in triangles in my device manager under Other Devices
    Here is how it goes:
    Other Devices
Base System Device, Location: PCI Bus 5, Device 1, Function 2
The Driver is NOT Installed (Code 28)

    &

Base System Device, Location: PCI Bus 5, Device 1, Function 3
The Driver is NOT Installed (Code 28)

I have no idea what these are for, I have installed my NVidia drivers and they are still staring at me.

Also anyone know where to find Sigmatel hd drivers?
    Dell's won't work...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Ditter...

Sounds like you need some chipset drivers....Get them from Dell or use CPU-Z to figure out your chipset and then download accordingly.

What do you mean that the Sigmatel drivers "won't work"?

I click to download the install file, and it downloads a dell app, but no driver.

A Dell application? What is it called? Tried running it?

Dell packages their own drivers into self-extracting executable files. It extracts to some location you pick and then THERE is the driver.

I just downloaded the chipset INF Update Utility from Intel, and that didn't work. When I try to download any of the drivers from dell, it tries to download dell driver download manager. If I try to open it, it prompts a message saying there is nothing to download, and closes.

    The chipset is Intel PM965

Dell Download Manager? So weird...I've never gotten that. You're at Dell's support site, right? I get the download manager when I'm trying to D/L off of MyDellDownloads.

    Tried here?

And......what happens with these? "Didn't work" isn't specific since now I have no where else to find the drivers. I mean, if neither of these work....

You've never installed the chipset drivers on this installation, right? It could be other things, too. Bluetooth, IR, LAN, WLAN, anything. Do any drivers at Dell's site work? Try to download all of them that are applicable.

they download, install, and absolutely nothing happens. I really have no desire to install drivers at random looking for the correct one.

After I installed Windows 7 on my M1730, there were 2 unknown devices. One turned out to be the PhysX card and the Ricoh SD reader.

    :D

Try those...if those don't work, then, well, think about your system. What have you not installed drivers for? It's kind of simple.
