M1730 keyboard doesn't light up, hasn't lit up since I've had it, do they come as standard?

Hi all, I'm new to this forum so not sure if I've put this thread in the right place but do you know if the m1730 had a backlit keybaord as standard, I assumed they did but mine doesn't light up. I've tried the FN+ right arrow key and little keyboard pops up at the bottom of the screen but no keys light up

Also can anyone point me to to a thread on windows 7 drivers for the m1730, I can't belive dell doesn't support it, it's disgusting.

    Thanks
    Dan :)
