I am not sure the "wobble" is the correct term of my issue.

I put it on table. Whenever there is a little shaking, one area in middle left of the screen wobbling. It is like you throwing a little rock in to the water and the water is disturbed and wobble (or wavered). It just happens to an area about the size of the nickel (in the middle, not in corners). Whenever there is a shaking, it happens. Everything else is perfect.

Is it normal? I just received today so I am still in the return period.

Are you shaking the screen itself? If so you may notice a small distortion in the LCD but it should leave as soon as the shaking stops.

No. It is on a sturdy desk. Whenever the desk is shaken (minor shake), it happens. The hinge and the lid is fine. Only that little part inside of the screen wavers.

I test it on my M1330 (13") and Inspiron 5150 (15"). This symptom never happens to them. I don't whether because this one has 17" or I just got a defective screen.

I tried this on my Powerbook and could only get the screen to wobble as you describe it when I moved the screen back and forth quickly. Moving the laptop itself didn't produce any soft of wobble. You might as well have them swap out the screen while you are in your return period.

Thanks for testing on your Laptop. It is quite strange when there are at least hundreds of M1730 users on this forums, but no one can/want to answer my simple question until you did :-( .. Perhap my description is not descriptive and clear enough. Again, I appreciate your help.

I made a request for exchange with Dell.
