Chasing an answer from other (8700M) M1730 owners to a quick question :

In Vista, does 'Display Adapters' in 'Device Manager' show one NVIDIA 8700M GT or two?

Mine is currently only showing one at the moment (and I have a feeling it used to show two). Basically, my option to enable SLi seems to have disappeared from the nVidia control panel. I'm trying to figure out if its hardware or software at the moment ... I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling original and latest drivers but still no luck. Got a few more things to try out tonight but thought I'd post this question to see if it would help narrow things down for me ...

    Cheers,
    Dave.

Yes you should see the two.
Try agai with drivers but using the correct procedure with d.sweeper.
If replacing drivers does not help well contact dell.

Hey, I had this very problem and it drove me insane-- until today.

Turns out, if you remap the mediadirect button to boot windows then you magically lose a display adapter.

I don't know if this will work for you, but I just remapped it back to the power button (and ubuntu has been pushed back to the Mediadirect button) and presto, two graphics cards again!

    Happy Thanksgiving!
