One of the biggest annoying and frustrating things is i own a 1640 and use the hefty 130w power supply, when its plugged in a number of times, it just falls out, i wish dell would look into a better power adapter end. Like the apples where there magnetic.

~.~ I've got to agree with that. But I think dell has bigger issues too look at before they look at power adapters. Cough their laptop designs. ALL their laptops are heavy for no reason. all of them are 4lbs +
Look at sony and samsung their laptops are like 3lbs

i agree it would be nice if there was a magsafe-like adapter from Dell.

it would save me from tripping on my own damn power cord in the office each week.

that said, all their laptops are 3x more expensive

The lightweight models from Sony and Samsung are not comparable hardware to the XPS 15. You're comparing apples to oranges.

Sony's more comparable models are heavier like the XPS 15.

well to me the Z series seem pretty on par with XPS 15 with the exception of video card.

but I suppose I didn't compare the F series with the XPS 15 because it was clearly stated as a desktop replacement which I don't see the XPS 15 being.

The Mag-Safe is a good idea, but the way Apple implemented it is ehh. The logic board has a seperate piece called the Mag-Safe board, and that is a common piece to go bad.

Honestly I like the way how Dell does it now, I've never had any of the fat tip Dell adapters/DC jacks break. Only had 1 crappy old Dell PA-12 90 watt brick die on me.

I also got no problem with the power connector. What i dislike is in fact the long Powerjack. My old Asus Laptop had this nice rectangular Jack. It was sleek and tiny and there was almost no chance of braking it.
