Hey guys. I was on here earlier with a problem with my XPS M1530 I thought I might have with my hard drive because I was hearing a random clicking sound. Someone told me to run chkdsk. I ran it, told it to run on restart, and now when I try to boot it gets past the windows load screen, then the hard drive spins and the screen is black. This happens even when i power cycle the laptop, which should stop it from trying chkdsk. I have talked with Dell, and they are sending me a hard drive, but I wont be able to use the laptop till that comes. Do you guys think this could be fixed, or has my hard drive crapped its pants? Please let me know, I do have my Eee but I dont want to have to use that as my main laptop for a while. Thanks.

My XPS Gens 2 had the same symptoms as you are describing and after the HDD was replaced it fixed it.
