What's the highest amount of HD space you can have and where can I purchase some? I hear it's 3TB?

Is that much that is available or the max the system can handle?

There is no 'max' the system can handle. It will handle all you put into it. It's limited only in that there are only 2 HDD bays (though you could replace the optical drive with a 3rd HDD, and attach a 4th via eSATA)

    I see.

So, all that is available for the system is 1.5TB as staxbg suggested?

I've tried searching on Amazon, but I'm not sure what I'm searching for exactly. Am I not searching for a particular name or mode that will be compatible with the XPS system?

Searching for what?? HDD's? Newegg.com - Computer Hardware,Hard Drives,Laptop Hard Drives,SATA 3.0Gb/s Just avoid the 1TB drives, they're 12.5mm thick and may not fit. All 750GB and below will fit for sure.

The case only has slots for two laptop sized hard drives, you might be able to add a third if you remove the optical drive. I don't think the SATA controller can handle drives bigger then 2TB, but there aren't any laptop drives that can store that much yet.

So in theory, without connecting any external drives, someday the laptop could have up to 6TB.

    But yea, 3x750=3TB
