I have 1645 currently in prodcution...
So, when I receive the charger, how do I check whether it's 90W or 130W? Will it say that on it?
I know this sounds like a stupid question, but the current laptop charger I have says completely nothing about it...
So, I was just wondering how to tell which charger I received?
Thanks guys.

It'll say on it, and the BIOS will list the wattage as well. The part number for the 130-watt I believe is PA-13.

I can only speak from my own experience, but at least in the US, it seems that all 1645's purchased directly from Dell now ship with the 130W adapter. The laptop needs it, if it's running the latest bios.

I thought the 90 watt adapter was the PA-3E and the 130 watt adapter was the PA-4E. It will clearly say on the adapter so no worries. Look for the DC output specification.

Of course, I got the wrong plug for it (won't fit into the PS due to the plastic of the plug bumping into the increased width of the 130W PS), so I just kept the old 3 FT cord from the 90W I had.
When I called Dell XPS TS, she said she could not find an alternate part number, but that I could use the 3 FT from the old adapter and send back the 6 FT.
I recall reading a post by Dell_Bill, or someone else from Dell on these forums, stating that they now have an alternate part number, but the tech couldn't find it even after I specifically told her I knew it existed.
Does anyone know the part number of the 6 FT plug that DOES work with the 130W adapter?
Maybe a stupid question...
