    Media Remote wont work, tried everything.

    I have tested the remote by using the "camera phone" test and it works fine. I have scoured these forums and found nothing that works. I recently just bought the laptop and ran a clean install of XP SP3 with all everyhting working fine. I have installed Dell Quickset but I think I have the wrong version. I need the one for XPS/XP, I think I am using the one for a regular dell/XP.

    Also I dont have media direct installed. Any tips?

    remote control is suppused to work without Quick set. I havent instaled quick set on my vista and it worked fine..

    yea it should work fine. try pointing it towards the audio jacks. or change the battery
