    Hello:

I am looking for recommendations for a messenger bag to carry a Dell XPS M1730. I take my notebook to 'work' daily; where I am lucky enough to spend 90% of my time gaming over a broadband connection.

These are the ones I've found where there is somewhat of a nice design; but I am curious to hear from anyone if they are large enough (and rugged enough) to accomodate the M1730, it's power brick, and a mouse.

Belkin 17 inch Messenger - I really like the desgin/colors, but I am doubtful it will fit, even though the Dell tech dude I just chatted with claims that it should.

Belkin 17 inch sleeve: As an alternative, I was thinking of this sleeve and then sticking in a 17 inch Targus Aluminum Briefcase

Targus 17 inch Los Angeles Messenger: Looks roomy by the pictures; and when I searched these forums, it does look like one person commented that it fits the m1730. But I'm just less fond of the design.

Targus 17 inch Miami Messenger: ditto for my comments on the "Los Angeles" design; but looks a little like my Targus 15.4 inch Urban Messenger which I do like.

Of course, please point me toward any other designs worth checking out.

    Thanks!

I would recommend the Kensington Contour 17" messenger bag. It is quite stylish and well built, and very durable.

If you get me a job where I can spend 90% of my time playing games , I`ll carry your computer for you and you won`t need a bag. LOL

I've got the Belkin 17" messenger bag from Dell when I purchased my 1720. Not sure of the difference between the size of a 1720 and a 1730, but the bag fits mine well. I would say its a little difficult to get in and out, as it only opens about one third of the way. I tend to prefer a bag which open fully, rather than relaying on you sliding the laptop down into a sleeve. The Belkin Messenger bag is very nice though.

One thing I've wondered is which way do people put the laptop in the bag? I have the 9-cell battery that sticks out the back, and I'm not sure I should be resting the laptop on the battery, or whether I should be turning it around in the bag and resting it on the narrower front edge with the media buttons.
