Because Vista blows compared to XP. Dont you know that?
Vista is a pile of horsecrap.

Also, the System runs very well on XP. Since the Notebook doesnt need to use any of its power for XP, I get more for Games and oter Applications.

So does anyone know where I can get the Microphone driver?

    Cheers

Vista is fare fare fare from horse crap. You seriously have no clue what you are talking about. Vista SP1, SP2, and Platform update are more stable and fast than XP ever was.

Prior to Vista first service pack I would agree with you. Your only hurting your self. And have you thought about Windows 7?

Thats lame. How about Posting help instead of Trolling?
I am not gonna take 5 hours of work into updating my Windows JUST to make the internal microphone work, thats ridiculous.

Every single reply to this thread has been useless.

I think he knows that there are Vista and 7 drivers available. I think he realized that he could upgrade to either one of those and then use his microphone.

And you guys assumed that, even though he probably knew both of these two facts, that you would go ahead and remind him. Now if you offered a solution (or even ANY sort of reasonable advice) and then told him about Vista/7, sure, that's fine.

But to just say "upgrade to Vista/7" is, bluntly, an idiotic statement. I'm not saying you guys are idiots, but this is a forum to help people, not to point out the obvious.

With that done with, try these:

    Linky

These *should* get your microphone working.

P.S. BTW....a bit of Google would have been good on your part, also....this is a hugely common issue.
