    Hi,

I have an old cathodic dinosaure on witch I play PS3 games and watch movies...
Not that I got my new SXPS 13, I am thinking about getting a screen for both devices.

They both have HDMI output... should I go with an HD tv or a Large LCD monitor 6

I don't want to pay more then 600$ and I would love to see my blu-ray in 1080p

For the Monitor I am thinking of something like this :

LG 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor 370$
    W2453V-PF
    HDMI, DVI-D (HDCP), VGA
    300cd/m2
    Contrast 50000:1 (DFC)
    Resolution 1920 x 1080
    Response Time 2ms

    and for the TV
    Insignia 32" 1080p LCD HDTV 500$
    NS-L322Q-10A
    Native Resolution 1920x1080
    Response Time 6.5ms
    Dynamic Contrast Ratio 10,000:1
    Brightness 450 cd/m2
    TV Tuner ATSC/NTSC/Clear QAM
    Speakers Included
    4-HDMI Inputs 2 2-Component Video Inputs 1S-Video Inputs
1-A/V (Composite) Inputs 1-Coaxial Cable (RF) Inputs
    1-VGA input 1-PC Audio Inputs
Optical Digital Audio Outputs Stereo Audio Outputs Headphone Jack

I'm just starting my research but I would like to have some feedback from you guys first ^_^

Insignia's have really dumpy quality. I would not EVER buy that brand. Look for stuff like Sony, Panasonic, LG, Hanns G, etc.

That's my current monitor, and I love it. Beautiful picture from both my SXPS 13, and my PS3. Not too expensive for the size either.

    It's a Hanns.G HG281DPB 28" Widescreen LCD Monitor

If you Google it, you should find it at plenty of stores for around $330 USD, or $450 CDN I think. Either way, its within your budget.

I saw your edit. Yes, it is possible to get the audio to another source. Your PS3 has digital audio out and you can send that to your speakers and HDMI to the monitor. Also, you can route the sound through the monitors audio out port to another set of speakers as well. There is an audio in and audio out port on the monitor for the integrated speakers as wel.
